A little “LOL” to Make You Grin …
What is a golfer’s favorite golf move? The Bogey.
Captain’s Corner
Isn’t it just great to be back out on the course – and with the continuation of such beautiful weather! I don’t know about you, but sometimes while playing I get a little sidetracked looking at the Charbonneau residents' yards and all their gorgeous flowers.
Last week was my birthday, and I am so grateful for all your birthday wishes! Instead of celebrating just one day, I decided to keep the celebration going. I figure life’s too short not to celebrate – so I am going to continue the fun and celebrate every one of you! Thank you for making this club what it is, something that is such a joy to be a part of.
Celebrate spring and come out and play, my friends!!!

What’s Happening at Charbonneau Golf Club
The ongoing remodel at Charbonneau only gets better and better. Have you noticed this champion of women at the clubhouse entrance? It’s just beautiful. On the plaque it reads: “Both mother and son are recognized as examples of human courage, endurance, and perseverance.” Kinda sounds like what we go through with the game of golf! ;-) In all seriousness, Sacajawea is one to celebrate!
Sign In/Out Table
We are all used to signing up for next week’s tee times at the sign in table, but did you know that after your round we need you back to sign out? Yes! Please visit this table again and put down your gross score – everyone needs to do this. Other clipboards on the table include – putts, birdies, chip-ins, hole-in-one, and waterballs. Fun fact, so far this month (and the month isn't even through, we've had almost 10 waterballs!). Is that something to celebrate? I think so, because we're going for it ... even if it ends up being a bit of a plunk.
GHIN Update – Post Same Day as Play
Let’s celebrate the 31 brave women who have signed up for GHIN this year! It’s tough learning something new (especially a new app), and we appreciate you giving it a go. A friendly reminder to please post your score on the same day as play in order for GHIN to calculate the differential adjustments for handicaps. If you have any questions about this app, please contact Janelle, or most established players, for help. We want you to succeed!
Paul’s Stretch Clinic
Special thanks to Paul Kane with Summit Physical Therapy for hosting LOLGC at a stretch clinic Saturday. Attendees were introduced to nine dynamic stretches to warm up with before hitting the first tee. You may catch Helen Leek doing some of these stretches before her round. With the information she learned at this clinic, she’s going to be even more equipped to add a few yards to her game. Here’s Helen and Janelle working on another key component of golf – balance!
If you missed the clinic, but want to learn more, Paul is ready to work with you on your stretching needs! He is currently offering two preventative programs to choose from, at a special price (call for pricing:
1 Hour: One-on-one session with Paul for a body mechanics evaluation, balance testing, and exercise/stretch recommendations.
5 Hours: Five personalized training sessions with Paul where he will provide individual guidance through a personalized training program designed specifically for you. OR …
If you have aches/pains, give Paul a call about a course of traditional PT, which is usually covered by your insurance.
If it’s a preventative gameplan or traditional PT treatment you’re seeking, give Summit Physical Therapy a call at 503-699-2955 to find out more. You deserve great care, and Paul will provide that – along with a little sprinkle of his humor thrown into the mix!
