Golf Etiquette
The main hope of this club is for you to enjoy the game of golf with one another. Golfing is fun! Please practice golf etiquette – so that everyone can have an equally enjoyable experience.
-
Don't move, talk, take practice swings, make noise, or do anything which might disturb a player about to make a stroke.
-
Don't offer unsolicited advice unless it pertains to a rule of golf.
-
Don't stand close to a player who is addressing the ball or in a line behind the ball where she can see you, or directly in front of or behind a player when she is putting.
-
Don't step in the line of a player's putt before she is ready to putt. The footprint will dent the grass and keep the ball from rolling smoothly.
-
Don't let your shadow fall across anyone's ball or her line to the hole while putting.
-
While you do not have to wait for the group in front of you to leave for the next green, don’t hit into them. Wait until all golfers are out of your distance before hitting your ball.
-
Replace your divots in the fairway and rough. Repair ball and spike marks on the green. Avoid damaging the green by dropping the flag stick or standing close to the cup.
-
Keep up with the group ahead of you but, as noted, don’t hit into them.
-
Play ready golf. We do not stand on honors. The first two players who have holed their ball should go to the next tee box and tee off if the group in front of them is out of the golfers’ distance. When the result of a hole has been determined by the remaining players, they should immediately leave the green. Wait until you get to the next tee to write down your score.
-
At the green, always pull your cart or leave your bag to the side of the green closest to the next tee. Do not park your golf cart in front of the green.
